Metric Conversions

The metric units of length are millimeter (mm), centimeter (cm), meter (m), and kilometer (km)

1 mm = 10 cm; 1 m = 100 cm; 1 km = 1000 m

To convert a smaller unit to a larger unit, divide the smaller unit by the conversion factor

To convert a larger unit to a smaller unit, multiply the larger with the conversion factor

E.g.: 30 mm = 30/10 cm; 2 km = 2 x 1000 m

For different objects, sometimes a small object may have more mass than a large object
