Money - Count, Compare, and Order

In this topic, a child learns to count coins and bills to find money amounts and make change. Comparing and ordering money amounts are also covered in this track.

Topic: Count Up to Find the Change

  • Different combinations of coins could be received as change

  • 1 dollar contains 100 cents

  • 1 cent is 1 penny. Its value is $0.01. 5 cents is 1 nickel. Its value is $0.05. 10 cents is 1 dime. Its value is $0.10. 25 cents is 1 quarter. Its value is $0.25

  • To find the total money, count the number of bills/coins, find their respective values and add

  • To find the change, start at the price and count up to the amount. Then count the bill/coins from greatest to least value
