  • Complex fraction is a fraction where the numerator, denominator or both contain a fraction.
     
    Example: 1/2 is a    
                      5
     
    complex fraction

  • When the numerator, denominator or both contain a mixed number, first write the mixed number as an improper fraction

  • When the numerator, denominator or both is a sum/difference of two or more fractions, simplify the numerator/denominator first before solving further

  • Express the answer in the simplest form
