  • Various phrases can be used to refer the same subtraction operation.
    For example, the expression: b -173 can also be stated as:

    Difference of b and 173,
    Or, 173 subtracted from b,
    Or, 173 taken away from b,
    Or, b minus 173

  • The division operation (173 ÷ 3) can be suggested by the following phrases:

    Quotient of 173 and b
    Or, 173 divided by b

  • Addition operation, for example 173 + b , can be suggested with the help of the following phrases:
